Spring Break Louisiana Style

For spring break, the family all got to go with Damone to Shreveport Louisiana. Now you may wonder, What can you do in a casino town if you don't gamble? Well, it turns out there was a lot for us to do and we had a great time. The kids and I played during the day while Damone was at work and when he was off, we enjoyed being together and having good food every night.



This was probably the kids least favorite thing we did. Can you tell? This is a local art gallery and by the time we had looked at one room of art, the kids were done. Not to mention the annoyance of the staff following me and the kids around and watching us like hawks (Do Not Touch Anything, including the walls). Enough said, we weren't there very long.

"Duck park" playground
Cooper says he is going to do that at his "Chuckie Cheese Birthday." When he comes out of the tunnel he is talking to Lincoln who I'm carrying in the baby bjorn.

We found this amazing park that parallels to this little creek. The locals call it the "Duck Park" for obvious reasons. The kids wanted to come here every day. We saw all kinds of ducks and geese and Klyer even spotted a mother duck sitting on her eggs. She let us get right up to her and Lydia even fed her some crackers.



This large petting zoo (Gators and Friends) even let the kids hold an alligator. The kids thought that was so amazing.

While I'm video taping, Lydia thought I was taking a photo so she is really hesitant to talk and tries very hard to keep that beautiful smile.

This is Cooper feeding the cattle. See Lydia's hand in the first one pushing Cooper, she wasn't going to do it. His reaction to the large gray slimy tongue licking his arm is priceless. The tongue slithered out too fast for me to get a picture of it.

Unlike the boys who were very daring in feeding all the animals, Lydia was content to feed them straight from the cup.-Tha'st what I would have done too. :)

We enjoyed the river walk. Lydia was excited to see the Red River up close after learning about it at the sci port we went too-they had hands on red river exhibits and a 4d movie. We know lots about the river and Captain Shreve and all the animals living in the bayou.

We had a great time. I love staying at hotels, no cleaning and breakfast is made for you every morning. We would've stayed longer it was nice to get away.
