This year for a camp fundraiser, the Young Women decided to have a babysitting night. On the 13th and 14th of Feb. the young women and the leaders watched the church members kids for a few hours so the adults could go out. It was a big hit. I serve in the young women's and was given the 14th to help babysit.
Damone had the idea to take Lydia out for a daddy daughter date the night I was volunteering. He brought the boys and dropped them off and took Lydia out. They had such a great time. The past few weeks Lydia has been making list after list of the possible things they could go and do. Some of her ideas were go to dinner, bowling, movie, get ice cream, and shopping along with many others.
So that night she decided they would go and see a movie. They chose to see Hotel For Dogs and when they walked in Damone let her decide if she wanted popcorn or a treat. She opted for the treat and chose sour patch kids. They were enjoying the movie and Lydia was really enjoying her treats-maybe a little too much. About half way through the movie Lydia leans over to Damone and says, "Dad I can't feel my tongue" while she's sticking her tongue out in complete shock and disgust to how it feels. Damone just laughed and said how hilarious it was. Later she stuck her tongue out to Damone and said, "It feels weird can you see anything on it, Can you see a bruise?" On thier way home they stopped to get an ice cream and Lydia couldn't eat it because her tongue was "burning."
The boys and I got home just minutes after Lydia and Damone did and the first thing she says is, "Here boys I want to share, you can have the rest of my treat from the movie." (Lucky them right?) Then Damone began telling me how the night went and Lydia's experience with the sour patch kids. It was so funny we were laughing so hard. Lydia "had an awesome time" with her dad and what wonderful memories they created.

Happy Valentines Day
Today was Lydia's Valentines party at school. Damone was working from home today so he got to go-Lydia was so excited to see him there. The class played games and had treats and gave their teacher a special valentine box full of love notes from all the kids and their parents. We really love and appreciate Lydia's teacher, she is so great and has really been so considerate and helpful to Lydia during these past couple months when Lydia was really struggling with the death of Maloree. We are so grateful.
We all had a fun time. I even did Lydia's hair festive for the day. I stole the idea off a link from my sister-in laws blog. It turned out pretty cute I think.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!

Horray for Sprinkles and Friends
We had our friends over yesterday. Laynee, Seth and Samuel and their mom came to play and decorate cookies with us. The kids had a blast as you can tell from all the pictures. They all were really enjoying the frosting (licking knives, dipping fingers, squeezing the tube straight into their mouth-I saw you Seth) I got a picture of Kyler just as he pulled a knife full of frosting out of his mouth. Needless to say they did get frosting on their cookies and the sprinkles. I never knew you could get than many sprinkles on one cookie but apparently they did. Great job you guys, they turned out great!
Thanks for coming we'll have to do it again, we had so much fun!
